Tucked away in Klamath Falls is a little known but very unique museum. Inside its walls is a treasure trove of ancient Native American artifacts mixed with artwork by contemporary western artists. Beautifully carved wooden sculptures, thousands of arrowheads--including an incredible fire opal arrowhead--native clothing, beadwork and actual ancient tools....all are beautifully displayed and easy to view. The artifacts give you a feel for what it must have been like for the early Native Americans to survive and thrive in the southern Oregon and Columbia River areas.
You owe it to yourself to take time to really view all the museum has to offer. Even if you are not especially interested in local history, a trip here will change your mind.
Another bonus is that the museum doesn't just display ancient artifacts. There are original paintings by famous western artists like Charles Russell, John Clymer and E.S. Paxson also on exhibit.
