The Pearl District is one of the most vibrant art, commercial, and residential communities in the country. Marked by cobblestone streets, historic water towers and restored brick buildings, this colorful district is also home to sleek, modern residential buildings; more than 50 restaurants, coffeehouses, bakeries, martini lounges, and wine bars; specialty retail; more than 60 home furnishings stores; Powell's City of Books; 3 parks; and a thriving art community that includes more than 25 galleries.
A popular place for my friends and I to dine and shop any day of the week.
Lots of fun, busy restaurants and bars. The pearl district is spread out and not as concentrated and central as the one street shopping/dining on NW 23rd. However, if you knew where you were going or just have plenty of time to walk around and explore, it is a fun and trendy area.
We like the Jamieson Square in the middle of the district on NW 11th. It is nice in the summer to walk your dog and get some sun in the city.

It's a fun, trendy little district. Full of culture...all kinds of food, shopping, kid-friendly parks and art. You can pick up a Pearl District Walking Map at most of the bigger restaurants and businesses. For women, there are a bunch of high end boutiques, shoes, clothes, fashion! Pet friendly neighborhood. The Streetcar runs right through the Pearl District, so you have easy access to everything.
