Nestled in the scenic west hills of Portland, the Japanese Garden is a haven of tranquil beauty which has been proclaimed one the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Encompassing five and one-half acres and five separate garden styles, the Garden includes an authentic Japanese Tea House, meandering streams, intimate walkways, and an unsurpassed view of Mt. Hood.

The Japanese Garden in Portland is a wonderful place to relax. Beautiful and scenic with panoramic views of Portland and Mt Hood. Should be seen in every season.

I love to go here when I need to think or clear my head. It's one of the better Japanese Gardens in the country (better than SF in my opinion).
The landscaping is amazing and the use of texture, color and dimension is very interesting and beautiful. They do offer tours that offer further insight, but this is also a great place to come and just explore on your own as the garden means different things to different people and since the vegetation is alive it changes and is a very different garden during various seasons.

This is a great place to go to enjoy the warm weather in the shade. The landscaping is beautiful and there are many nooks and crannies to explore. Just be sure and wear comfortable walking shoes!
