Founded in 1944, OMSI is one of the nation's leading science museums. This hands-on museum features fun exhibits, the Northwest’s largest planetarium and the USS Blueback, a decommissioned U.S. Navy submarine. OMSI’s plan includes goals of carbon neutrality, waste elimination, sustainably-produced exhibits, and sustainability education for museum visitors.

Michael Smith is the vice president of convention sales for Travel Portland, the convention and visitors bureau of Portland. For more information on planning a sustainable meeting, visit the Green Meetings Toolkit.

OMSI - always a place to visit

OMSI is always number one on my family's list. The exhibits are entertaining for both adults and kids. There are always new exhibits to check out. The cafe has a fairly large, healthy, and cheap selection, so feel free to hang out there the entire day.
