Multnomah Falls is arguably "the grandaddy" of the 77 waterfalls on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. At 620 feet, only three falls in the nation are higher, and none are more beautiful. It attracts large crowds on summer weekends, so plan accordingly. A trail from famous Multnomah Falls Lodge (1925) climbs to the Simon Benson Bridge across the lower cascade, then zigzags to the top.
Next time you go to Multnomah Falls, include an extra hour and walk to the top of the Falls. This trail is paved to the top, with a side trail down to overlook the top of the falls. The Forest Service requests that you stay on the trail, without taking short-cuts.
There is additional information about the area available at the interpretive center, including some new Native American art work.

Multnomah Falls to Larch Mt.
(nwhiker.com)
6.8 miles one way. This trail is amazing! You follow Multnomah Creek for most of the way seeing multiple waterfalls along the way. As you approach the summit of Larch (4050ft) the views of the Cascade Mt Range is specular.
The elevation gain is steady and only has a few sections of extreme steapness.
Bring lots of water (or a filter) and snacks and enjoy the great views at the top!
