It does not get much more Oregon than this: drive over 30 miles on forest roads along a scenic river through the wilderness, get to a well maintained parking lot, pay $5 for parking (honor system), hike about 40 minutes on a really nice trail through the forest over wooden bridges that cross clear streams, get to several wooden building that house the Bagby Hotsprings, walk around the building to get to the tubs and be greeted by several naked people with tattoos in interesting places who sit in the wooden hot tubs drinking beer and smoking interesting "herbs" from a pipe. But don't be scared - the folks are so friendly they immediately offer to share tub, beer and pipe with you. If all this sharing is not your thing you will find more privacy in one of the 5 hot tub rooms that have a private tub and door you can close. Be prepared having to wait for one of these rooms though. As you can image, nobody here is in a hurry. So relax, put your bathing suite on (or get naked), create a tub with the perfect temperature for you by mixing water from the natural hot springs with regular cold water, enjoy the scenery around you and listen to the rushing stream and the wind in the trees.
