Kahneeta Resort

Pools-slide2_small

Kahneeta is a great getaway even if only for a day! The entrance into the reservation is only 30 miles past Government Camp and the difference in climate between Mt. Hood and the Warm Springs reservation is completely different. My kids and I took a day trip to the resort during Spring Break. We left Portland in 40 degree weather and arrived at the big mineral springs pool to 75 degrees and blue skies! Between the beautiful weather and the warmth of the mineral springs pool, it was the most relaxing day we have had in months.
The pool is fantastic for kids and the entire pool ittself is so large, there is always plenty of room to swim and relax.
Staying at the resort is also a lot of fun. There are a few good choices for meals between the restaurants up at the main lodge, down to the snack bar by the big pool, it all satisfys everyone's cravings. There are also rooms with kitchenettes so you can bring your own food if you like. Besides the pools there is also golf, horseback riding, tennis and other sports activities offered.
For a quick getaway I highly recommend it. With the complete difference in climate and terrain from the Portland area you really feel like you "got away" on vacation, even if only for a day!
