Rock climbing mecca!!

Smithrock_small

Oh my gosh, anyone planning a trip to central Oregon who loves hiking and/or climbing should definately visit Smith Rock. This place is a diamond in the middle of the desert. :) It can get very hot here too, so visit in the spring or late fall for comfortable temps.

The hiking trails are well maintained and the climbing here is amazing! You can hike atop the rimrock or down along the river - there's plenty of variety for all.
