Fantastic Service & Great Food

We stayed at this cute little B&B for 2 nights. Having lived in Eugene for 10 years (the entire 90's decade) I was surprised that I didn't know about this secret little spot before our recent trip.

The rooms were okay, a bit small for the price and not as nice or up to date as we are accustomed to, but not terrible either. The biggest downside is the noise factor, the Inn is very near the train tracks and Amtrack station, so every night we heard a few loud whistles sound as if the train were about to enter our sleeping room....they actually provide ear plugs at turn down, and you sort of get used to it.

Huge upside is the very excellent food. I work at Saddlebrook Resort which features the best steakhouse in the Tampa Bay area, so I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to meat. I usually don't order steak anymore when I go somewhere else because I'm almost always dissapointed. Not so here. The meat, (local organic farmed beef) was exquisite. Also excellent selection of local wines, good use of wild mushrooms, and delicious breads and desserts.

Homey feeling with genuinely great people on staff, makes up for the train noise and the room being less than perfect. They also offer fresh baked cookies at the door.

If you are visiting I would consider staying here, if you live in Eugene, make your way there for a special romantic dinner some night because you won't be dissapointed.
