Seashells in Ashland

As far as I know there is not a sea near Ashland, but the Ashland Springs Inn's lobby kind of has a ocean type theme. The seashells represent all of the places that the owners have been around the world. It is quite a collection! Besides that you couldn't ask for a better hotel that is so centrally located. From the hotel you can walk to Lithia Park, shops, coffee shops and most importantly the theatre. The rooms are small but very cozy and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast on the mezzanine is very nice and included in the rate, at least the rate I had. When guests return in the eveing there is tea and cookies in the lobby. Oh, and if you are planning a wedding, they have a great reception space.

Classy hotel in the center of the town

We stayed here during the Shakespeare festival and enjoyed the classy elegance of this stately hotel. The hotel sits in the central past of the city and it allows you to be able to walk to everything the town offers. You are two blocks from the festival and across the street from a great home made ice cream shop, Rooms are smaller since the hotel is older but there is a warmth and charm to the place. The hotel restaurant is a good place to have a nice dinner. I would recommend this place for a romantic get away with your significant other.

Historic but not worth the price

Beautifully restored, this iconic hotel in downtown Ashland is a must see, but I don't recommend an overnight stay. We spent three days there, and although we reserved the highest class room, thus paying over $200 a night, we were disappointed. The room was very small; we actually had to climb over the bed to get to the window, which overlooked a parking lot. We needed to open the window because the air conditioning wasn't working. Ashland is HOT in July! I willnot stay here again.
