Great friendly service

I had the chance to stay at the Heathman as a Portlander and realized this is a true gem. The deco lobby is inviting and the check in quick and easy. The room, while not huge, was restful and immediately relaxing. I thought it might be a bit noisy overlooking Broadway but it was surprisingly quiet. And since I don't have room service at home this was a must. The appetizer and wine arrived when promised and it was delicious. You cannot beat the food from the restaurant.

Everyone I encountered said hello and went out of the their way when I had a question.

No wonder visitors always speak highly of their stay.

Where's the History?

Love the location, central to cultural institutions/events, and the farmers market! Who knew! While I loved the tea court, the rest of the hotel seemed to stray pretty far from it's historical roots; we never learned anything about the history, and we looked! we asked! So go for the amenities, but you will be paying the price for same. The only thing I didnt like was the size of the rooms. Really small.

You won't want to get out of bed

The Heathman is simply the best. The beds are to die for, guest service unsurpassed, restaurant and bar rival any in the city. I love the french press in-room coffee and teakettle with loose leaf tea. Pure luxury.
