Tolovana Inn
The Tolovana is pleasant, if uninspiring. When I visited (2005), there was a significant discount for rooms that don't face the beach. That made it affordable in an otherwise-spendy town. Plus, it's only a one-minute walking to jaw-dropping views. The hydrangeas on the grounds are a particularly welcome sight for landlocked Midwesterners.
