Relax just by the surf
Some years ago we stayed at the Adobe Resort in summer. We enjoyed the view over the ocean, we did some hikes up and around Cape Perpetua and over the dunes near Florence.
This time we arrived at the Adobe resort in a winter afternoon when a storm roared, the surf thundered just in front of our room and rain and snow were thrown against the panes of our panorama window; outside a great spectacle of the roaring elements - inside the comfort and security of our warm and cosy room. We swam some laps in the big heated indoor pool and regenerated in the hot jacuzzi. In the evening we had a very nice dinner at the Adobe restaurant which we can recommend.
The next morning the wind had calmed down, the sun came out so we could go for a long walk above and along the cliffs watching the endless spectacle of waves and surf running against and over the rocks and exploding in bright jets of white spray.
We certainly enjoyed our winter stay at the Adobe resort as well as our stay in summer.
When you have breakfast in the restaurant you should have a close look at the printed paper place mats which give you a lot of information about the history of Yachats and this part of the coast (native Indians, the Spanish captain Heceta, James Cook).
When you book you should ask for special rates; we had for example during the week a rate "two nights for one" which was a good bargain.- 0 people found this review helpful

Romantic and beautiful Adobe Resort
My husband, Tom, and I spent our honeymoon in 1995 at the Adobe and loved it. With the beautiful Pacific at our doorstep, waves crashing and seagulls screeching, we watched sunsets and walked along the beach every day. We returned for a stay to celebrate our anniversary 5 years later and enjoyed it just as much. The town of Yachats is charming and scenic. We enjoyed shopping at the small stores and eating breakfast while gazing at the ocean. The food was delicious at the Adobe. We look forward to returning - perhaps for our 15 year anniversary!
