Disappointing
We were very excited to go on this tour and couldn't wait to bring our out of town guests, but ended up very disappointed in the experience. The tour was VERY crowded, almost thirty people! There were multiple things that were creepy, the history was good, but the tour could use some work. Not an experience that I would recommend.

Get underground!
From 1850 to 1941 a tunnel system ran under the streets of Portland. The tunnels were called the "Shanghai Tunnels" as men were drugged, tied up and dropped through trapdoors down into the tunnels. When they woke up they were on sailships bound for China and would only retuen home years later (if at all). The Shanghai Tunnel explains these wild times in a 90 minute tour. Tours are by appointment only, so call ahead.
