Enter Fernando's and you feel you have just stepped inside a restaurant in Spain: smoke from the bar hits you while you work your way to the restaurant which is in the back (ironically Spain has banned smoking in all restaurants and bars in the meantime but somehow progressive Oregon can not make the same decision). Fernando's serves typical fare from Spain, most importantly tapas and paella as well as a decent choice of entrees. The tapas are also available in the smoky bar area. The food is decent, service is good, conversation is made difficult by the loud music. Upstairs you find a Salsa dance club that is open Thursday to Saturday from 9pm to 2am with free salsa lessons offered in the first hour.
