  1. Elk with Huckleberries

Had the pleasure of dining in this very special restaurant a bit ago. In a lovely historic home. Signature elk medallions with huckleberry sauce are delicious--as are their cocktails. Raphael, the owner and a Native American showed us the historic photographs hung around the house and also had some lovely Native American jewelry for sale. This is a very special place.

    great NW cuisine

There aren't many places in Pendleton that you can say their food is 'cuisine', but Raphael's definitely falls in that category, and was the first to be brave enough cook at that level here. Now, I would say Plateau, and sometimes Hamley Steakhouse, are the only other two. The owners divide and conquer, one as chef, and one hostessing. They definitely put their personal stamp on both jobs, and it makes dining here a complete experience. Prices are comparable to metropolitan prices, but the food is at that level as well. The atmosphere is wonderful, in an old but updated Victorian house with beautiful art work on the walls. And be sure to order Chef Rob's mushrooms as an appetizer

  3. Wonderful food in the historic Raley House

It states on their website they are the 1997 recipients of the Oregon Restaurant Association's "Restaurateur of the Year" and I don't doubt it for a minute. The food is wonderful and every attention is paid to detail. We had a wonderful meal starting with the crab cake and mushrooms we shared for an appetizer right through to the creme brulee dessert. A great regional wine list and some wonderful cocktails also await you.

  4. Wow what a happy hour!

My girlfriend called and said, “Do you have time for a glass of wine after work?” I’m never one to turn down an offer like that and suggested Raphael’s as I knew she had never been there before. What a great happy hour they have! We skipped the wine when we saw the Huckleberry lemon drop on the martini specials for only $5! We ordered two appetizers to share the button mushrooms in sherried cream sauce and the crab cake. Great conversation and time with a friend a fabulous cocktail, yummy appetizers at a super price what more could you want to end your work week and start off your weekend.
