Excellent Cocktail Menu And Great Food

In June I went with a group of co-workers to the Saucebox. This was my first time to the Saucebox and my impression was favorable.

In summary, many amazing and many unique cocktails, excellent pan-Asian dishes, excellent service, and somewhat pricey.

My cocktail was the “kickboxer”, made of house-infused Thai chile vodka, passion fruit purée and citrus juices, topped with raspberry purée It was a very tasty, with a kick to it. I would consider having this one again, but also would like to try many of their other cocktails that sound delicious!

For food, I had the Rainbow Roll Sishi, dungeness crab and black rice, topped with avocado, ahi tuna, wild salmon, unagi, prawns, and wasabi tobiko. The ingredients were fresh and the sushi was much better than the typical restaurant sushi.

I also had the Pork Sarong, deep-fried noodle wrapped meatballs with cucumber salad and tamarind dipping sauce. The tamarind dipping sauce was what really made this stand out.

I also sampled the Tapioca Dumplings; filled with chicken, peanuts, and cilantro, drizzled with garlic oil. This also was very tasty.

I also had a taste of the rare grilled hawaiian ahi and the grilled squid skewers and these were also excellent.

The service was excellent and the wall murals added to the décor theme.

My only negative comment is that the dinner menu is somewhat pricey, but I have been told that the Happy Hour is much better for price and I plan to try the Happy Hour some time in the future.

Swanky cocktails and delicious food

Not sure how you'd classify the food, but it has all been very good. Even better, though, are the drinks. They have an amazing cocktail list that's full of surprises that just demands experimentation. Great place to go before a dinner or stay there for the main course. It's just on the verge of Old Town and the Pearl, so you'll get an assortment of passers by if you dine/drink outside. Homeless, high-rollers, the hip and trendy. You'll find it all here.

Saucebox was pretty cool

I went to happy hour with some friends the other day and we went to Saucebox. I'd never heard of it and it was my friend's b-day celebration so I jumped on board. The awesome part about it was that Happy Hour goes until 6:30 and they have some really good food. The beer selection was pretty tight and in general it was pretty solid.
