Brookings has it all - mild temperatures all year, great whale watching in the winter and spring, and great Mexican food. Try Terreros or Rancho Viejo. Yum. Enjoy fishing in the ocean or at the Chetco River. Enjoy camping at Harris Beach State Park (right by the ocean) and watch the beatiful sunsets. Stay at Whaleshead Beach Resort and enjoy fun and relaxation. During Memorial Day weekend the Azalea Festival is great fun with a parade and all. Highly recommend a visit to Brookings.
