Great Beach for the Kids!

I took our family for a month long RV trip to Oregon, and it was the journey of a lifetime! Wow, there's just so many things to see and do - I could go on and on. Cannon Beach stood out in my mind as a very quaint town next to an incredible beach overlooking Haystack Rock, a natural rock formation that stands guard at Cannon Beach.

The beach is has a nice, gradual incline so the water is shallow for little ones. If you go at the right time, the water actually receeds far enough for people to walk over to Haystack rock. The sand on this beach is golden and fine, and it makes the best sand castles! Remember to take lots of photos as these are the places that will linger on in your family's memories. I must have taken 2000 photos on our journey, and we all still have very fond memories of Oregon - the places, the activities, and the people!

If you have the chance to rent an RV, that's even more fun since Oregon has got to have the best park system for RVers. There's something about kids and RV's that just makes it a great camping experience. You can book campsites online, and check out all the different State Parks. There's a nice, little RV park right at the entrance to Ecola State Park where we stayed. They offer horseback rides right down on the beach as well. I can't remember the exact name of the place, but they have little wild bunnies that roam around freely. It's quite a neat RV park!

While in Cannon Beach, be sure to drop in for dinner at Dooger's Seafood Grill, a popular spot it seems with the locals. We actually had spent our nineth anniversary there for dinner, and the service and food was pretty good. You can get also get a chance to try out the Razor clams delicacy there.
