I was born and raised in Hermiston. The city is located in the middle of a desert region in North Easern Oregon and lies along the Columbia River. Hermiston is in the heart of a well established growing region they are famous for the watermelons and Potatoes that they grow. there is alot to see and do in the Hermiston area There are several good swimming and picnicing areas such as Hat Rock State Park and Wharehouse beach there is also an awesome public pool with water slides and all kinds of fun for families. The McNary Dam is located just north of the city and has a very nice and extensive trail system which runs through a nature conservation area, you should make time to explore. Main Street is a delight to walk there are many cute little shops and boutiques that you should explore. One of the few down sides to Hermiston is the hot weather, during the summer months it can often reach into the 100's!! Hermiston is also located within a short drive of Pedleton where the famous Pendelton round-up is held each September and is also within a short drive of Tri-Cities in washington where there is much more to see and do and plenty of shopping
