Nuts Huts
Looking for an authentic experience through the region of Bohol, Philippines? Stay at the Nuts Huts by Loboc River, owned by a wonderful Belgian couple. But wait, make sure that you like walking, err, hiking, climbing and nature, and if you do, Nuts Huts is the place to be. To get there, you have 2 options, from Tagbilaran airport, you could take a taxi or public transportation and ask the driver to drop you by the road entrance where you could walk for a good 20-25 mins to reach the entrance upstairs and walk down tthe stairs to the restaurant where they have the main lodge. Or you could ask your driver to drop you by the river entrance where you also support the locals by taking a boat ($3/pp), see the tarsiers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarsier) by the river and then walk the "long" stairs up to Nuts Huts' restaurant and main lodge. If you do this you get to pass by the "Huts" that are named after classic movies such as "The Color Purple" (where we stayed), "star wars' etc.....Tourist spots, like the Tarsier Sanctuary, Chocolate Hills, etc are all near to Nuts Huts! Make sure to try the "herbal bath" and sign up for the 3.5 hr hike to the mountain caves and enjoy the waterfall and river swim.....Fun!
