Great Atmosphere Great Food Great Brews

Out of all the places to eat in Lagrande, one of my top choices would definitely be Mt. Emily Ale House. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very inviting and fun, the food is exceptional and their beer is wonderful as well. I would recommend getting any of their pizzas and a pint of the porter, although whatever you choose you will be happy with.

Good People, Good Place, Great Beer!

Home_building_small

Stepping into the Mt. Emily Ale House in La Grande is an experience in itself. The beautiful building which once was held by banks, investment firms, fancy jewelers, and more - is now hosting a set of brew tanks in the front 20 foot tall windows. The yellow and maroon color palette is pleasing to the eyes and fills the place with a positive, clean, and playful atmosphere.

When I sat down I was given a free test tray (doubt they are free now - I just happened to step in as they were gearing up for the public opening - so I was a guinee pig - and I have never been so happy to be one... but I digress. I was presented with 5 choice beers brewed 10 feet away from me all of which hands down beat any other beer I have ever had. I promptly ordered a pitcher of my favorite ,"The Oregon Blonde" and settle my eyes to the food menu.

I heard rumor of the pizza being the best around so I went with the "Newport," a seafood based pizza with an oil and spinach layer toped with shrimp, scallop, and light onion - soooo goood!

Had a great conversation with the bartender - enjoyed the smiling faces of everyone there - drank my beer - took a look around at the the upstairs conference room and see that they are planning to project films and host live music aside from being available for large parties and banquets.

I left which a great sense of satisfaction that these local crafters have create a beautiful, engaging, and hopefully prosperous addition to downtown La Grande, making it a destination for beer appreciators and food lovers traveling through the state. 5 stars!
