local favorite

If someone asks me where locals like to go, I would always include the Great Pacific Wine & Coffee Co., or 'GP' as locals call it. You know its THE place in town, when on every college break, this is where the returning students go to meet up with friends and family. You know you'll see familiar faces here. And if you're new in town, you'll be greeted warmly. They often have live music here, sometimes rock, sometimes bluegrass. The whole place is very eclectic. Food is too. Arisan pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads, vegetarian choices (rare in Pendleton), and a huge wine selection, with plenty of microbrews on tap or in bottles. And, as the name implies, plenty of great coffee selections!

Jumpin' Joltin' Jivin' Java at GP

When in Pendleton, please be sure to try The Great Pacific Wine and Coffee Company. It is a very unique place...I enjoy sitting at a table by the window, sipping a robust cup of coffee (Java) while watching the pulse of downtown as people drive or walk by! They have all the "specialty" coffees, so one will suit you just fine. While there, you can partake of some choice salads! My favorite is the Baby Green Salad...lots of Bleu Cheese, onions, balsamic vinegar & oil, nuts...it goes on and on. If you prefer vegetarian...you will want to stop by! I'm so glad they are in Pendleton!

Great Pizza and the blues!

On a recent girls night out myself and 4 girlfriends met up at Great Pacific aka the GP. We had good wine great pizza and a free show! Blues musicians Alex Weed and Colin Lake were performing and it was a very enjoyable evening all around. GP has been bringing in local and regional talent more often and if this is an example of the talent level I really need to get out more often! If you haven't tried the pizza yet you should. We shared a pizza with meaty goodness and since my husband doesn't eat beef or pork any longer it was quite the treat for me. I have shared the meatless lovers with him and it is very good, the best veggie pizza in town and one of the best I have had anywhere. I also have shared the Thai pizza with a girlfriend and it is to die for! So go for the music or go for the pizza just go!
