Located at the entrance to Hellgate Canyon, Buckhorn Mountain Lodge lies in the heart of the Scenic Rogue River Wilderness and the trip from I-5 is beautiful. As you drive up tp the lodge you think you have arrived at a gem. And if your room is in the main lodge...maybe it will be. Just do not rent the Treehouse listed as "Nestled high on a forested hillside is a rustic hideaway for two." Let me tell you why. You haul your suitcase up quite the hill with thick gravel so be prepared to carry it all the way up, rno rolling. There is no air conditioning, no sceens and lots of windows but no full window curtains. And be careful, the innkeeper decides for you she has the perfect room for even a single female. And dare I mention the bath house is down the hill around the corner. I did not feel like I could stay as I was not prepared to sleep with the french doors open all night to have some air on a very warm night. I told the owner I could not stay and fely misled...she was very determined I was NOT misled...bad experience to the end.
