The BEST gals getaway!

I went to Esther's Place with a colleague last week. As soon as I walked in, Natasha offered us tea. Then we sat, chatted, drank tea, worked on a felting project and chatted some more. I couldn't believe how quickly the time flew by nor how relaxed I had become.

Esther's Place offers classes on spinning wool, plying, needle work, felting and so much more. In addition to learning the basic techniques, there are craft classes where you can create felted animals, a nativity scene, hat, purse or other items, all for a reasonable price.

But it's more than just learning a new skill...you're investing time in yourself, family & friends. What could be better than creating a new tradition with your grandmother, mother, sisters and daughters? I plan to take my mother & sister there after the holidays for a fun way to reduce stress.

Most classes are a few hours long but you can also make it a getaway/retreat by staying at the B&B upstairs. There are three rooms: one has a separate bathroom and the other two share a bathroom. One room even has a loom in it!

Esther's Place also sells yarn & wool as well as some already-finished pieces including beautiful silk scarves. This is my newest favorite place to go in Chicagoland!
