for Cooks & Gardeners

Don't miss the Powell's Books for Cooks & Gardeners - just a few doors down from this location. The one for C&G is also attached to Pastaworks - that delectable gourmet grocery store with the best selection of deli, cheese selection, fresh pasta, bakery, wine and meat.

Between Pastaworks and Powell's C&G, I could probably spend much of my paycheck.

Books, Coffee, and Culture

This Powell's is much smaller than the original on Burnside (then again, what store isn't?) and so much cozier. They have a great selection of books, and the staff are all very helpful with suggestions.

It's right in the heart of the Hawthorne District, so it's a great place to grab a book you've been meaning to read, sip a soy latte, and browse your new find while you people watch.
