Home of drunk punks for more than a decade

Another of the handful of Portland dives that has $1 pints at happy hour, the Ash Street is a Portland institution. Long home to bike messengers and the near-but-not-quite-homeless, the Ash St. has in recent years developed a solid calendar of live music to fill the large-ish expansion the space developed when they knocked out a wall... years ago. I don't know how many.

Tiny amount of sidewalk seating, split personality surly / nice staff, cheap stiff drinks and food that only an iron stomached mother could love.
