The bonfire is an awesome little place in close-in Southeast. Beware of the smoke, but if you handle it (come early to grab an outside table) you can get cheap, strong drinks, prompt, friendly service and awesome, awesome food that's very affordable.
A great place to hang with your homies in the evening, have a late night, regroup after a nightclub, or just chill out by yourself and read. The barstaff are friendly and the patrons are such that you can strike up a conversation with them and neither your brain nor your body will suffer. There's pool tables too. My favourite place in portland, and they have awesome bathrooms!
