Atmosphere: 8.5/10.
The setting gives you a cabin-like feel but is not overwhelming. The bar area and restaurant portion are well done and have good spacing. The capacity is the largest we have encountered so far.
Service: 7.5/10.
The beer sampler arrived fairly quick and the server provided us with a good review of the beers offered and available.
Food: N/A.
I had already ate before so I did not order any food.
Beer: 9/10.
There is a wide variety of beers available and…they are tasty. You can get everything from a light, crisp organic beer to a rich roasted stout. They also served a new variation of beer: Cask-Conditioned Ales. CCA’s are less carbonated which results in a flat beer. It does not sound appealing until you try it…its very smooth and full of flavor.
My beer sampler consisted of: Bachelor Bitter, Barley Wine, Black Butte Porter, Cask-Black Butte Porter, Green Lakes and Cinder Cone Red. My favorite out of my sampler was the Cask-Black Butte Porter.
Overall, I enjoyed the visit and would look forward to making another trip. Deschutes has differentiated themselves from the other breweries by offering cask-conditioned ales. It is good to see that they had the faith to put out a product that on paper is unconventional.
