I tend to prefer places of low pretension to places of high class - somehow, Living Room Theaters pulls off both. The unique thing, of course, is that LRT has intimate, comfortable movie theaters showing classics and recent flicks, but I actually haven't even seen a movie there - I've only spent time in the cafe / lounge lobby.
Lots of natural light, friendly, fast service, very tasty and classy bar munchies - try the Ahi Tuna Handroll - and good coffee, coctails and beer... I really have had nothing but fine, relaxing experiences each time I have been there.
Conveniently across the street from Powell's Books, too - bonus!
I'm posting this tip as a Place to Eat and Drink, but as a theater, clearly it could have fit in Places to See as well.
