    I have been to the festival for the past four years and look forward to it every year. They always have a very interesting art exhibit from woodcarving to computer art and what will they have this year? That is why I have to go back. I learn so much about a form of art I would not necessarily explore otherwise. The festival committee brings in leading artists in the field and the special exhibit is just that - special. I have purchased something from the last two. They have what is called a craft fair in the nearby park down one block from the Lakewood center. It is really an artist fair. It is not typical craft fair quality. Bring the whole family as they have a kids day program on Friday.
    In 2009 the Festival will feature Cutting Edges: Contemporary Mosaic Art. This exhibit will be the largest mosaic fine art exhibit ever offered in the United States and will shatter your perceptions of an ancient art form. Modern mosaic art encompasses a vast range of exciting techniques, materials and styles. The world-renowned artists chosen for this show have transformed this ancient art with contemporary designs while embracing traditional methods. Invited artists will display works incorporating stone, metal, precious jewels, glass, recycled and found items with vibrant results.

    The exhibit will feature the works of leading regional, national, and international artists. Lectures, displays, and demonstrations featuring the techniques of this art form are also scheduled throughout the three-day Festival.
