Love: homemade tortillas & best damn tortilla chips around. Delicious ceviche, salsa, guacamole, tacos of all kinds, bowls of rice/beans/meat. Their pomegranite margaritas go down way too quickly. Outdoor seating, very casual.
Hate: that I don't live closer.
You order at the counter and they'll bring the food to you. Seating is less than optimal and it's a busy place, but well worth the small tables and wait. Word on the street is that they're opening a new location on Hawthorne; I hope it's true!

Having spent a lot of my formative years in Arizona, I like to think that I have a pretty discerning taste when it comes to Southwestern food. After living in the Northwest for three years now, I’ve come to accept that the taco joints here are just not on par with my favorites down south.
Enter Por Que No. Boy was I surprised at the flowing aromas and amazingly authentic flavors at this tiny neighborhood shop on North Mississippi. With a dazzlingly diverse menu of goodies such as vegetarian tacos, awesome fish tacos and most importantly excellent margaritas, this is by far the best taco shop in Portland.
