Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden

7 acres of grounds boast an outstanding collection of rare species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, deciduous and coniferous trees. Formal landscapes and more natural areas along the springs provide plenty of birding, especially during spring and winter months when huge flocks of waterfowl and gulls congregate on the artificial pond. There is no indoor center but kiosks provide interpretive brochures. Restrooms are available and the paved trails are wheelchair accessible. Modest entrance fee. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are free.

Peace, Tranquility and Sheer Beauty Await You...

Tucked away behind the area's local golf course, and next to Reed College, is the discreet, low-profile entrance to the Crystal Springs Rhodedendron Garden. You will be AMAZED at the natural beauty of the "rhodees" in May (at the height of their bloom), and yet, the beauty of their foliage, and that of the other trees, plants and flowers throughout the year, are wonderful sights to behold.

Walking paths ensure you can explore the lake (perhaps sit on the large log placed so naturally by the water's- edge). Artists come to the Park to paint various scenery; brides and grooms visit the park for their pre-engagment and/or wedding photos.

Duck and squirrel food are available at the local begetable stand just north of the Park. Children and adults alike will enjoy feeding the ducks, geese, and squirrels. Enjoy it! It's an experience not to be missed.
