Beautiful Convention Center
I just attended a conference held at the Oregon Convention Center. This is probably one of the country's most beautiful and most modern convention centers.
All Hallways and common areas are flooded with natural light. Parking is very affordable at $8/day. The MAX lightrail system is just a few short steps outside the center with easy and free access to downtown Portland and cheap access to Portland International Airport.
The center is equipped with a well engineered wireless (wifi) network which can be accessed for $12/day.
Two Starbucks Coffee locations inside the building keep visitors caffeinated and Kinko's Fedex operates a station most days.
The convention center's catering unit operates above average efficient tasty meals.
All in all I highly recommend the Oregon Convention Center to anyone planning to hold a large meeting or conference.

Underestimated for conventions
Portland has a beautiful new convention center and in true Oregon style it is a green building and only the second convention center in the US to be certified by the Green Building Council. Many convention-visitors from out of town do not realize that one of the best things about the Convention Center is the public transportation links it has. The MAX light rail line leaves directly in front of the building and goes just over the bridge - next stop downtown. As the Convention Center stop is still in the Fareless Square you do not have to pay for taking the train. So be smart, stay at a nice hotel in downtown and take the train to and from your convention. You save on parking, avoid traffic and are in downtown where are the restaurants, shops and action is.
