I haven't tried Kyoto yet (which I hear is good, but only open for dinner), but I think this may be the best sushi in Salem. And surprisingly affordable. Standard rolls and sashimi, plus a few signature items are offered. The lunch specials - typically a teriyaki or rice bowl thing - are priced under $5. No kidding. And you won't walk away hungry. They have two sides to the restaurant, a "cafe" side (which has the sushi bar) and a more formal dinner side which has the intimate Japanese-style booths with high panels. Both are open all the time, so I'm not sure why the distinction. But no matter... the food and service is great no matter where you sit. Only open after 4pm on Sat-Sun
