I'm a huge fan of Indian food and wondered if, when I moved to Salem, I could satisfy my constant curry cravings. With this new Indian restaurant, all is well. Opened in 2006, this place does the usual lunch buffet for a very reasonable $7 and offers authentic dishes that change regularly, plus the stand bys (Tikka Masala, tandoori chicken, etc.). They don't water down the spice to be virtually non-existent (like the OTHER two Indian restaurants in Salem), but the dishes are mild enough for the average American palate. As they gain a following, I expect the menu will expand. Haven't tried dinner here yet, but the lunch buffet is interesting enough to tempt me. The owners also have an Indian grocery next door if you want to try the dishes at home. I get my cardamon there for coffee and tea. yum!
