In September 2008, the Oregon Convention Center was re-certified with the LEED-EB Silver rating from the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the first convention center in the nation to achieve re-certification at a higher rating. The OCC has 50 meetings rooms and 225,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Oregon Zoo

The Oregon Zoo is a conservation zoo that breeds endangered-species animals and strives to serve as a model for earth-friendly operations. The zoo is home to animals from all corners of the world, including Asian elephants, Peruvian penguins and Arctic polar bears. The zoo recycles 100% of its herbivore manure into useable compost.

Opened in May 2001, this 1.5 mile corridor extends along the east side of downtown Portland’s Willamette River, affording spectacular views of the city. Seating walls, benches, overlooks, and small plaza areas offer places to stop, relax and enjoy. Boat docks and public artworks are also featured.
