Andina1314 NW Glisan StPortland, Oregon |
The interior of Andina is warm and inviting, with wonderful earth-tone colors and wooden floor. The menu features Peruvian dishes. Try the pork tenderloin with butternut squash. I ate dinner there with a a group of 4 and everyone enjoyed his or her meal. We all had dessert as well; the creme brulee selection received rave reviews from the 2 people who ordered it. |

Henry's 12th Street Tavern10 NW 12th AvePortland, Oregon |
There is a frosted strip around the entire bar which you can set your beer on to keep it cold. I realize that if you are concerned about your beer getting warm, you are obviously taking to long to drink it. Anyways - I think it is a great concept. The happy hour food is good - salads and soups are my usual choices. Sadly no beverage specials but the beer selection is amazing. |

Teardrop Cocktail Lounge1015 NW Everett StPortland, Oregon |
The Teardrop Lounge offers truly hand-crafted cocktails reviving the classic era of mixed drinks. The menu includes everything from tonic water, specialty liqueurs, and a wide array of bitters and tinctures produced in-house. Daily specials always include one cocktail from the pre-prohibition era. Michael Smith is the vice president of convention sales for Travel Portland, the convention and visitors bureau of Portland. Beaker & Flask727 SE Washington StPortland, Oregon |
Both the cocktails and food served in this cool space are inventive and delicious. The menus change frequently, and are almost guaranteed to include unfamiliar terms, but you are in the hands of inspired bartenders and cooks here - take a chance! The happy hour menu is great, with a variety of $5 cocktails and a short but sweet list of food items. I strongly recommend the "Millas, Poached Egg, Bacon, VT Maple Syrup, Tabasco" -- this dish consists of a poached egg atop a slice of polenta (that's "millas," apparently), alongside a monumental slab of bacon -- more like pork belly. The textures and flavors were remarkable. |

The only thing good about this place is the atmosphere. Great people go here, but the food is bland and very traditional, with a limited menu. As for the service, pretty bad. Everytime I'm there, the service is slow and there are always plenty of servers, but they always seem too busy chatting with each other to notice your glass is empty, or you're ready to pay. The bathrooms are a TRIP! Be careful not to walk into the mirrored walls......lawsuit waiting to happen. |

Jimmy Mak's221 NW 10th AvePortland, Oregon |
Jimmy Mak's is a great place for jazz rookies to experience a jazz club without feeling overwhelmed. The food is great, the servers are friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere makes you feel like music is your life, no matter if you've ever picked up an instrument or not. Jimmy Mak's is a great place for a first date, if you are worried about awkward conversation. You usually can't hear over the music, so you can just smile and nod at one another. |

The happy hour menu is Great. A nice assortment of New American cuisine. The fish tacos are delicious, though could use a bit more of a kick.

Masu406 SW 13th AvePortland, Oregon |
Downtown sushi place with slow but friendly service. Thursdays through Saturdays the place turns into a nigh club/lounge with a DJ around 10/11 pm but even before they play lounge music at high levels - be warned if you want to come here to have a dinner conversation. A great thing are the Kampai hours (=happy hours) from 4pm-6pm and from 10/11pm until close where a special menu offers appetizers (mostly fish) for half price. |

Greek Cusina404 SW Washington StPortland, Oregon |
One of the best kept secrets at the downton location of Greek Cusina (though not for long) is its Sunday Family Night. Reservations are taken starting at 5:30pm to ensure all guests are able to enjoy food and drink prior to the evening's entertainment. There's a $9.95/person sampler platter, but you can order from the menu as well. From Greek dancing, to belly dancing demonstrations, to plate breaking (additional fee), it's a fun experience for all family members. The younger ones will enjoy the plate breaking, but the music gets louder as the evening progresses, so plan accordingly. Check out the Restaurant's website for more details. OPA! |
