  2. The most popular rock in Oregon

If you love Goonies, the beach, or where the locals go in Oregon, these are all reasons to head to Cannon Beach and see Haystack Rock. Easily the most identifiable rock in Oregon, this huge rock is part of a series of monoliths on Cannon Beach. Head to Ecola State Park for a great vantage point (you can also see the lighthouse from here).

  3. Time Capsule of Tastiness

Driftwood Restaurant is a family restaurant locked in time--the plates still come garnished with sprigs of parsley. And yet, the home cooked fare at this haven to seafood is close to perfect. The shrimp cocktail is fresh and tastes like the ocean, the catch of the day is so fresh, the meat falls off the fork. They also have great sandwiches, and steak for dinner. Come anytime, and you are certain to find something you enjoy. The service is friendly, too!

  4. Cozy Place

This place is run by the Haystack Lodgings group so there are other offerings on the site.
We like the Blue Gull because it is quaint, very, very close to the beach and within walking distance of the main section of Cannon Beach.
The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. We have stayed here several times and have not been disappointed.
This is not a hotel, so there is no lobby or anything like that, but for people who don't mind having many amenities, it is perfect.

  5. The Ocean Lodge in Cannon Beach

A beautiful hotel built at the sandy edge of the Pacific Ocean, with views of Haystack Rock, so close you can touch it.
I loved the gigantic beams and craftsman style architecture, the enormous roaring fireplace, hot beverage and cookies available all day, and the cozy little alcoves for napping or reading.
The staff is superior and tends to your every whim.
    Pets are welcome too!

  6. Good food in a pleasant setting

This is a nice place for a dependably good meal. Lunch is available with standard American fare. The dinner menu also offers standard fare, but there are a few dishes that are more distinctive, such as the very rich artichoke and crab casserole. The pot pies are delicious, served with home-made apple sauce. There is a full bar in this large restaurant in the north end of Cannon Beach. The decor is modern with clean lines and lots of wood.

  7. Elegant dining on the coast

This is a place for a romantic fine dining experience in a beautiful room. The food is excellent and the service is top-notch. You will pay for both, but it is well worth the price. There is a set price menu. You do not have to be a guest of the inn to dine here. A perfect spot for a special evening.

  8. Great place for lunch

My husband and I have eaten lunch here about a dozen times. The food is always freshly prepared and the service is amiable. My favorite lunch is the grilled mahi mahi sandwich. The fish is crisply cooked and served in a bread bun that is very good -- no soggy chain food bread here! My husband loves the meat loaf. The location is great, right near the midd-town entrance to the beach near Haystack Rock.

  10. The Ocean Lodge

What a great place to stay! The west facing rooms have balconies overlooking the ocean with views of Haystack Rock. I really enjoyed the little touches - warm cookies in the lobby, the smell of the wood-burning fireplace, and a very friendly staff. Great for storm watching in the colder months. And the location is close to downtown Cannon Beach, but not in the thick of things.
